Country Hospitality

Country food embodies the warmth of rural hospitality, creating a welcoming atmosphere where every meal feels like a hearty embrace from home. Combine the enjoyment of that hospitality with the added benefit of supporting rural communities, and everything tastes a little sweeter.

You will find that warmth and friendly faces at these special Country Hospitality fundraising food outlets:

The Country Women’s Association (CWA) Tea Room

The CWA Tea Room is a favourite meeting place for many showgoers who, each year, meet to catch up over a scone (or two) and cup of tea. Equally many of the CWA volunteers have developed lasting friendships with other volunteers and look forward to reuniting annually at the Show. Some members have been volunteering at the Sydney Royal Easter Show CWA Tea Room for as long as 30 years, with a number of volunteers in their 80s still putting up their hand to help.

The CWA mission is to improve the lives of women and children in regional and rural areas, supporting the CWA supports their mission. Manildra is one of the major sponsors of the Tea Room, donating 2.5 tonnes of scone mix, with Dubbo business Little Big Dairy donating all the double cream, Nestle the coffee and hot chocolate, Pepe Saya the butter and Sunshine Sugar donates the sugar sticks for the tea and coffee.

Rural Students Café

For a true taste of the bush take a seat at the café run by hospitality students from rural and regional NSW. Gaining real world experience in the kitchen and front of house, the students are mentored by professional chefs as they prepare tasting plates of locally inspired treats. Not only do they gain practical knowledge and experience, but they also take all proceeds back to their school for much-needed financial support.
In 2024, 11 schools from rural and regional NSW will be participating, with many students coming to the “big smoke” for the first time.
The tasting plate menu this year also has added Aussie bush magic, introducing Australian Native Ingredients. The pavlovas have refreshing Lemon Myrtle, the hearty sausage rolls are enhanced by Native Thyme, and last but not least the Vegetarian Quiche boasts Aussie Bush Tomato.
