Combining the two traditional sports of polo and lacrosse, Polocrosse is a fast-paced team sport focussed on getting the ball between the goal posts using a racquet head on a cane, whilst riding on horseback.

Polocrosse originated in NSW in 1939 and is an incredibly competitive sport. With only three players per team there’s nowhere to hide and plenty of skilful speed is required.

Junior Polocrosse teams will compete in four display matches to be held in the Schmidt Arena, showcasing the home-grown sport that is now played around the world.

Showjumping is an Olympic discipline recognised by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), and Sydney Royal has long been acknowledged as a breeding ground for international competitors.

The judges are looking at both horse and rider, assessing skill, accuracy and training. Professional riders compete in the Open Competitions whilst Junior, Amateur and Pony Club sections remain separate.

In each class horse & rider must jump a course of 10-13 jumps, including some oxers – a jump with two rails that may be set even or uneven. The Grand Prix event sees the best horse and rider combinations required to jump up to 1.60 metres!

In 2025, the Schools District Exhibit Display Competition will offer a delightful preview to the main Districts display. Be inspired by the meticulous creations and dedication of passionate high school students.

The annual Sydney Royal Rabbit competition, run by the Rabbit Fanciers’ Society of NSW, is considered the premier event on the competition calendar for rabbit exhibitors, with the 2024 Show attracting record numbers.

The event showcases hundreds of exhibits across multiple species including Fancy, Lop, Fur, and Rex. The competition also has classes for Junior Exhibitors and Show visitors can see the bunnies on displayed and being judged.

The Sydney Royal Sheep & Fleece Show is committed to supporting the pursuit of excellence in many different breeds of sheep. With over 400 classes available, awarding cash prizes, ribbons and perpetual trophies for Fleece, District Fleece, Meat and Dual Purpose and Merino.

Merino and Poll Merino (no horns) are brought together to determine the Supreme Merino Exhibit on 12 April. The Meat & Dual Purpose Interbreed to determine the Supreme Prime Lamb Exhibit is held on 18 April.

The Elders Sydney Royal Beef Cattle Show welcomes up to 1,200 head of cattle onsite over the course of the 5 days of Show, with up to 20 breeds of beef cattle, with Exhibitors traveling from almost all over Australia to compete.
